Hey gang, been a while since I’ve updated here.  Got a good number of cool projects I wanted to share.  First off, I return as Lindow in the PS4 game, “God Eater 2:  Rage Burst”, available this week.  I’ll also be voicing him in the anime series from Aniplex as well.

If you have wee ones, or ya just wanna watch a fun CG toon on Netflix, check out “Bottersnikes and Gumbles”.  I voice Gubbo.  He’s like Patrick Warburton on Xanax.

I did some bit part animal and human voices for THE WILD LIFE, a retelling of Robinson Crusoe.  It’s out now in Europe and will be in select U.S. theaters starting September 9.

“Digimon Adventure try Chapter 1” is coming to theaters for one night in 300+ U.S. cities on September 15.  You’ll be hearing me as Greymon.

A few months back I had an uncredited voice match gig for Bayard the dog in the sequel, “Alice Through the Looking Glass”.

If you’ve been watching the hit show, “One Punch Man”, you’ve been hearing me in a few smaller roles, such as “Bespectacled Worker”…

And Kamakyuri…

Keep watching, as I’ve got one more “One Punch Man” character coming up in the next few weeks.  ;D   Also, if you’ve been checking out “Hunter X Hunter”, also on Toonami, you’ve heard me as Umori.

If you still need some more anime, look no further than on Netflix, for “Seven Deadly Sins”.  On that series, I voice Dale…

also, Weinheidt…

and Dana…

I noticed my credits were in SEVERE need of updating, so I spent some time giving it a little shine.  If you feel like looking at a very long but up-to-date list, then click HERE.  Speaking of updates, I also cleaned up my APPEARANCES page.  I’ll be stopping in Phoenix and Atlanta in September, and Detroit in early November.  I do have a lot of weekends coming up, so if you have a con in your town and you’d like to see me as a guest, please email them to request me.   I’m very easy to find.  All con inquiries, or fan correspondence, can be sent to:

I’ll be in Phoenix in just a matter of days for SABOTEN.  Here’s my schedule…

Coming next week is a new Sonic the Hedgehog game out now called “Sonic Colors”.  I voice the non-playable character, Big the Cat on the DS version.  I’m very excited to be added to this popular franchise!  (thanks to @GameBuddy on Twitter for the correction…I erroneously had announced I was in “Free Riders”)

I’m gearing up for ShadoCon in Tampa this weekend, then for Thanksgiving weekend, I’m off to Tomodachi Fest in Boise, Idaho.  That’ll wrap up my appearances for 2010, but folks are asking what I’ve got lined up for next year.  Here’s a small sampling…

ANIME MATSURI in Houston, TX   March 18-20

ANIME DETOUR in Bloomington, MN  April 1-3

ANIME ST. LOUIS in Collinsville, IL April 15-17

A-KON in Dallas, TX June 10-12

DRAGON CON in Atlanta, GA September 2-5

You can catch me walking around Anime LA and Anime Expo as usual.  Plus there are other shows still in the planning stages so stay tuned.  My appearance page will be updated accordingly.  I’ve got some really fun international stops coming next year and I can’t wait to share them with you guys!  Meanwhile, work has picked up and the stress of being a freelancer has been reduced (for now).  I’m very blessed with everything I’ve gotten to do, and its worth every bit of it.  Thanks for coming along for the ride!

Its been a super slow few months on the gig front, though auditions have been plentiful.  I am very lucky to be given those opportunities.  But when they don’t call you in, you don’t work.  If you get to do voice over, remember to have a day job to keep the bills paid.  I’ve been doing this for 10 years and I’ve never been more broke.  Currently, I DON’T have a day job and have been struggling quite a bit to stay afloat.  The catch is to find something that will keep at least most of your weekdays free for auditions/sessions, and since the economy has been in the toilet for quite a while, jobs aren’t exactly plentiful.  When I applied to be a stocker at my neighboring grocery store, I didn’t even get a callback for an interview.   The only two things I am qualified to do are be a disc jockey and do voice acting.  Radio was a wobbly at best when I joined back in the early 90s…and now the internet has caused terrestrial radio to slash jobs left and right.  I was doing radio imaging (those guys that identify the station between songs that AREN’T the dj) but that dried up.  I’ve never been a waiter or worked retail, never been a telemarketer, etc.  Stress is at an almost constant high level.   This is a very real downside to being a self employed voice actor.  But I accept that baggage, and I give my all on every audition…and eventually a few things stick here and there.  To quote Galaxy Quest:  “Never give up.  Never surrender!”

A great escape from the harsh reality of dreadfully inconsistent work is when I get to travel to conventions.  I can’t wait to fly out to Phoenix next weekend for Saboten Con.   I get the face to face feedback from the fans, mingling with my fellow voice acting peers, and I enjoy very gracious semi-celeb treatment.  I am truly blessed.  My time spent in other cities helps keep the spark of hope alive.  But I have to say, the biggest positive influence on my drive and determination towards my work is the  huge groundswell of daily support on my Facebook and Twitter pages.  The fact that I am lucky enough to do what I do and happen to entertain so many of you is a perk greater than any paycheck.  Thanks to each and every person who follows my career.  You guys are simply da bomb.

Back to Saboten, if you’re attending, here is my panel schedule for the weekend of Oct 1-3:

12p      Anime Auditions:  The Process

1-3p    Kyle Hebert Q and A

4:30p  VA Q and A

12p  Bleach

4:30p VA Q and A

7:30-10p    Masquerade (emcee)
