FAQ PAGE UPDATED…..AND WHAT’S WITH THOSE GOOGLE ADS?

Some more FAQ info has been added. There’s a new subsection devoted to podcasting. While 2005 can certainly be called a banner year for this phenomenon, there are still many who have no clue what its all about.Steve is continuing to tweak the site (my headshot can appear as a URL icon, scaaaaaary!). Perhaps you’ve noticed the appearance of Google ads, including a big one on the lower left hand side as you scroll down. This was spawned from a recent conversation we had regarding revenue for our podcast. The profit from these ads are minimal at best, but every penny counts to offset the cost of website design, maintenance, and broadband access. The concept is that Google ads are generated based on certain buzzwords within the content of a webpage. This is so advertisers can reach their target audience better by the placement of unobtrusive links. I’ve clicked on Google ads many times within Gmail and have found alot of cool info on products or services. So, feel free to click on them……..or not. 🙂

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UNION AND NON-UNION?

Voiceover projects fall under two categories: union and non-union. Union voice work falls under the jurisdiction of either SAG (Screen Actors Guild) or AFTRA (American Federation of Television & Radio Artists). Unions exist to negotiate and enforce contracts, working conditions, pay scales, and medical and retirement benefits. Union projects, overall, tend to pay more than non-union (there are, of course, exceptions). Most anime work is non-union. Predominance of one type of project over the other depends on your location. Los Angeles offer mostly union projects. Other areas offer mostly non-union. To join or not to join is an inevitable decision an actor must face. There are advantages and disadvantages to both sides. The initiation fees to join and annual dues within either of these unions vary from state to state. Anyone can join AFTRA, while SAG has certain qualifications.

CAN I GET YOUR AUTOGRAPH?

I am always more than happy to sign anything. The easiest way is to catch me at a convention (see “APPEARNCES” page for latest listing). If you can’t make it to any of those, my agent has a mailing address and she will forward it to me. Make sure to include a return envelope and postage. Click on over to the “CONTACT” page for more details.

WHAT IS A PODCAST?

A podcast is an mp3 of a pre-recorded audio talk show. It is meant to be downloaded either to your PC, laptop, or mp3 player such as an Ipod (hence the name). Contrary to popular belief, you do NOT need an Ipod to listen. Podcasts are a growing phenomenon because essentially anyone with a mic and a computer can host one. Thousands of shows are produced by everyday people, on any subject. With the popularity of Itunes, it

WHY DO YOU HAVE A

While podcasts are free, it still takes time to gather items, organize, record, and edit the shows. Steve and I both have busy schedules, but we also enjoy doing the podcast, for the fun of it. Nobody should feel obligated to donate, however the option is there for those who might have a few bucks to spare as a token of appreciation. If you like what you hear, let us know! All donations will get a special mention on our show.
